We arrived from Rome by train at the Firenze Santa Maria Novella station, very close to the hotel where we would spend a couple of days. Not in the heart of the city like we usually do, but easy to walk from one place to another every day that we would be in Florence. The hotel was Hotel delle Camelie, very simple and a good price because it is far away, but very comfortable and the attention is constantly very friendly. The trip was in 2010. At least from the hotel to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, it took us about 15 minutes walking, but we passed by several spots.
Among the sights we visited: Il Duomo (the cathedral), Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria and other wonderful places in this city located in the Tuscany region, with which we fell in love. In the video you can learn a little more about those places.
Another place where we walked was the Mercato Centrale, next to it you’ll find Via dell’Ariento street, which has a lot of market stalls with handicrafts, souvenirs, handbags, purses and much, much more.
On this trip, we took a day tour to visit other small towns in the region and that’s how we got to know Siena, San Gimignano and Pisa.
