What is This Pass About?

ResortPass is a site that allows you to reserve a daily pass to enjoy the amenities of different hotels and resorts, perhaps very close to you or in another city that you plan to visit and your accommodation does not have a good pool or good amenities. Many hotels with the pass offer you towels, sometimes a discount at the restaurant, tennis courts or another sport, among others, it all depends on the hotel. Sometimes it can be cheaper to spend a day with this pass than 1 night in a specific hotel.

A Day at Omni at Championsgate

Recently, I had the opportunity to use ResortPass to spend a day at the Omni at Championsgate in Central Florida (Orlando). From the moment we arrived, it was an amazing experience. The hotel is beautiful! We parked and walked to the pool where we checked in, they gave us towels and placed our things on 2 lounge chairs by the pool.

Although we toured around the common areas, I think we spent most of the day relaxing in the lazy river. We also briefly visited the wave pool and the adults-only pool.

For lunch, we went to Croc’s, the restaurant by pool where I had a delicious chicken quesadilla, my husband had some very crispy chicken strips and we both ordered some frozen drinks to cool off from the heat. Everything was so tasteful!

Since I can never miss to try coffee, I stopped at Broadway Deli for a mocha and a giant cookie to share, both of which were really delicious.

We stayed for a few hours at the hotel and didn’t stay longer simply because we had to return home to our dogs who were alone, otherwise we would have spent the whole day.

How does the Pass Work?

Once you decide which resort to visit, you can purchase your pass per person or a cabana for a group. Each hotel is different. At least the Omni in Orlando that we visited, it was just my husband and I, $40 per person, included parking, loungers with umbrellas and towels (plus use of tennis or basketball court, video game room, but we didn’t take advantage of all that, just pools). Obviously on weekends the price will be higher than on weekdays. The cabana at that hotel is $375 for 4 people and includes the above, with a bigger space including a TV and a refrigerator with water and soda.

Once you have purchased the pass, you simply wait for the day of your visit and be ready to enjoy it. In our case, when we went to the Omni, we went to the pool area where they give the towels and there we checked in. Again, I’m sure every hotel works differently.

Where can I use it?

ResortPass is available in a wide variety of destinations around the world. Some countries where you can use the ResortPass are Canada, Colombia, Bahamas, Peru, Hong Kong, Puerto Rico among others. You would have to check by country which hotels are there, at least in Colombia only (for now) there is Cartagena and 3 hotels in that city.

Even a while ago we stayed at Iberostar Playa Paraiso, and ResortPass has an option for Lindo and Maya (2 of the hotels within the resort) the pools are beautiful and the hotel itself spectacular.

Obviously in the United States there are a lot of them in every state. From Florida to California, without forgetting Colorado, New York, Utah or Texas.
