On our trip to Grand Junction, where we enjoyed a day around Colorado National Monument, we took a day-trip to visit Aspen and then Glenwood Springs.

Aspen

We left Grand Junction early to go to Aspen first. On the way, we enjoyed views of Mt. Garfield and other beautiful scenery, including part of the Colorado River.

Mt. Garfield

On the way, first we stopped in the town of Carbondale, located between Glenwood Springs and Aspen, to have breakfast at Village Smithy Restaurant. A delicious meal in a spot that I recommend because of the very good service and delicious dishes.

We strolled around Main Street for a bit where you’ll find several restaurants and even art galleries.

We continued the trip to Aspen, where we simply explored around the downtown area for a while, among the little shops and cafes.

Although the trip became even better, for my husband, because he got to buy a guitar from D’Angelico 😆 It is gorgeous! And you can only find that store in New York, Los Angeles and Aspen. It wasn’t part of the plan, but it was worth it for him as a musician. And he’s been playing it a lot!

By the 5pm we were back in Glenwood Springs where the world’s largest thermal pool is located! and obviously we visited it: Glenwood Hot Springs Pool.

The bad side of arriving that late? The rain accompanied us during our visit to the thermal pool. Although we were able to enjoy the place a bit before it rained. The establishment has restrooms, showers, a store and restaurant, 2 swimming pools with different temperatures and even a lazy river. It’s worth visiting!. You can also spend the night at Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge.

And of course, here is a video of the trip, with more of the gorgeous landscapes and the spots we visited. (click CC for subtitles)
